Aventura Lakes is a guard-gated community of Mediterranean-style single-family homes on the north side of Aventura, built between 1998 and 2002 around lakes and mangrove preserves. Listing sources put it at about 420 homes. Its homeowners' association was incorporated in 1996 and runs the clubhouse with a fitness center, a pool, tennis and basketball courts and a playground, with 24-hour security at the gate.
