The Plantation at Leesburg is a guard-gated 55+ golf community of about 2,800 single-family homes in some 30 villages on 1,760 acres near Lake Harris in south Leesburg. Its homeowners' association was incorporated in 1987, and dues are low. Residents have two 18-hole courses, Otter Creek and Cranes Roost, and three clubhouses: Grand Manor with a restaurant and ballroom, and Ashley Hall and Hermitage Hall with fitness centers and pools. Outside are tennis, pickleball, bocce and softball, fishing docks and marinas, and more than 100 clubs.
