Riverwood is a gated golf community of about 1,320 homes in 29 neighborhoods on a 1,300-acre site along three miles of the Myakka River. Much of the land is preserve, lakes and the par-72 public Riverwood golf course. Its community association was incorporated in 1992. The sports campus has a fitness center, zero-entry pool, tiki bar, and tennis, pickleball, bocce and croquet courts.
