The Woodlands is a Tamarac community of about 890 custom mid-century homes on large lots, begun in 1968 by Tamarac founder Ken Behring around the 36-hole Woodlands Country Club. The golf course has closed. The city approved a development agreement for up to 335 new homes on part of the course land.
