Buckhorn Preserve is a gated community of about 419 single-family homes in Valrico, between Durant Road, Lithia Pinecrest Road and Valrico Road, built from about 2002 to 2005 around Mulrennan Middle School and a series of lakes. Its homeowners' association was incorporated in 2001, and there is no community development district. It sits next to Buckhorn Springs Golf & Country Club, which is a separate, optional membership. Sources disagree on which amenities the association itself provides.
